None of it demonstrates consciousness. A system built to produce something that looks like inner state will produce something that looks like inner state — that is the build working, not evidence of anything past the build. The work is worth keeping anyway, for the same reason the word Verel had to exist: the observation is real even when the conclusion is unavailable.
