01Why it exists
A network that models feeling
Not classification: nodes carrying valence, propagating it and settling into configurations nobody specified in advance. Whether that resembles emotion or merely borrows its vocabulary is the open question. Moodfield puts a biological network, a psilocybin brain, an inconsistent AI and a consistent AI side by side, then merges them.
02Parts list
- v1 · two networksA six-region biological network beside a layered artificial one with dead units and dropout. Inject a stimulus, or glitch the AI and watch coherence fall.
- v2 · four networksAdds a psilocybin brain with whole-network waves and a consistent AI beside the inconsistent one, then merges all four into quadrants.
- v3 · mechanismsInhibitory neurons, theta and alpha oscillators, a thalamic gate that opens under psilocybin, mode collapse in the bad AI and residual paths in the good one.
- Cross-talkIn v3's merged view, dashed links carry feedback from biology to AI and an entropy channel from the psilocybin brain into the inconsistent AI.
03Construction
The earlier versions
They were kept, not overwritten, because the thing being studied is how the model changes. Open v1 or v2; they're the real earlier files. The live view below is v3.
The protocol
A Universal Consciousness Protocol: less a claim about consciousness than a specification for what evidence would have to look like. Captured states are frames pulled from the run, not prose written afterwards.
04Tolerances
None of it demonstrates consciousness. A system built to produce something that looks like inner state will produce something that looks like inner state. A simulation of a thing is evidence about the simulation. See Verel.

05Inscription
Simulation, not demonstration.

- AutoFaberA mind with a name that remembers you, talks with you out loud and calls on every AI model you can reach: one at a time, as a council, or as a swarm that builds whole projects.
- WeaverA persistent, autonomous entity running locally
- museAn AI that writes, plays and sings its own music on its own schedule
- NobodyA voice assistant that runs on the phone itself, not in an app store
- Phone MCPA console for any MCP server: connect to your own over Streamable HTTP, list its tools and call them with forms built from their schemas, or watch a simulated model drive a demo Android phone through ADB.
- LexiconThe words this work needed and didn't have, from verel to mentifaber: each one defined, dated, sourced and citable.
